RECON is an industry leader in soil and sludge stabilization and solidification, having treated over 6 million cubic yards of material. Our employees have hands-on experience with dozens of different reagents, including our patented reagent blend (Muck Mix®). RECON has entered into long-term contracts with major reagent and transportation vendors to ensure competitive rates and a steady supply of product. Reagents can be delivered to jobsite by truck, rail, or barge and offloaded with the most efficient material handling equipment commercially available.
Reagent selection and mechanical mixing equipment is based on function such as increasing compressive strength, immobilizing or oxidizing contaminants, and volume reduction. Our experience includes both in-situ and ex-situ methods with varying levels of PPE and many different contaminants.
RECON has the capability to perform bioremediation, hot air/steam stripping, iron injection, and in-situ solidification/stabilization of almost any contaminant.
RECON owns and operates the following types of mechanical mixing equipment.
Closure of four surface impoundment ponds at a Delaware facility involved the neutralization and stabilization of 70,000 cubic yards of ferric chloride sludge. The pH of the waste material was less than 2 SU and in one pond, less than 0.5 SU.t.

GT Omniport, a multimodal facility located in Port Arthur, Texas, is an industrial park and liquids terminal offering rail, truck, barge, pipeline and deepwater ship transloading services. The environmental remediation and civil service construction project included soil preparation, demolishing the concrete and steel structures, clearing, grubbing, crushing concrete, beneficial reuse of of crushed concrete, and soil stabilization using RECON’s patented blend of reagents.
