RECON is an international leader in the development and application of bioremediation technologies. Our vast experience consists of both insitu and exsitu applications.
INSITU BIOREMEDIATION: RECON was the first contractor to develop and construct permeable reactive barriers (PRB) to bioremediate contaminated groundwater. Insitu technologies also include the deep soil mixing of oxygen releasing compounds (ORC) and other constituents designed to promote contaminant degradation.
EXSITU BIOREMEDIATION: Exsitu remedies include windrow composting, bioheap extraction, and landfarming. All of RECON's bioremediation technologies enhance indigenous microorganism growth to accelerate the degradation of organic contaminants. Our experience base includes both aerobic and anaerobic biodegradation. Depending upon project requirements enhancement of indigenous microorganism is completed with:
1. Enzymes
2. Surfactants
3. Nutrient addition
4. Compost
5. ORC
6. Acclimated microbes
Should up-front laboratory testing indicate a low native bacteria colony count, populations of microbes specifically acclimated for the waste stream are developed and deployed. Our field personnel continually monitor contaminant concentrations, pH, nutrient dosage and other parameters to ensure optimum degradation occurs. Additionally, RECON utilizes field equipment to ensure affected soils remain aerated or windrowed when inclement weather is approaching.

GT Omniport, a multimodal facility located in Port Arthur, Texas, is an industrial park and liquids terminal offering rail, truck, barge, pipeline and deepwater ship transloading services. The environmental remediation and civil service construction project included soil preparation, demolishing the concrete and steel structures, clearing, grubbing, crushing concrete, beneficial reuse of of crushed concrete, and soil stabilization using RECON’s patented blend of reagents.
