Steven R. Birdwell, President – Mr. Birdwell has over 20 years of experience in the management of environmental remediation geotechnical construction projects. He began his career at CH2MHill in 1987 and founded RECON in 1989 to meet the demand for environmental services created by new regulation. In addition to his executive duties, Mr. Birdwell assists Program and Project Managers with contract management, client management, constructability reviews and strategic planning. Mr. Birdwell also leads RECON’s team of professionals tasked with taking new technologies to market.
Rick Nieland, Chief Operating Officer – Mr. Nieland joined RECON in 2009, and has over 32 years of experience in various aspects of project and operational management. Prior to RECON, he worked with CB&I where he began his career as a project manager, project engineer, and business development manager. Over the years, he worked his way into Senior-level management and has been responsible for all aspects of managing various business units around the world. His experience includes both the commercial and execution facets, including all engineering, procurement, and construction activities, related to large, turnkey projects.
Tricia Burns Irion, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer – Ms. Irion joined RECON in 2008 and has over 30 years experience in various areas of financial management. Most recently, Ms. Irion was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for HydroChem Industrial Services, Inc. She served HydroChem as CFO from 2002 until her departure in 2008. Prior to that, she served as the Controller of HydroChem from 1996 to 2002. She is responsible for RECON’s financial reporting, banking, treasury management operations, accounting systems and processes, financial reporting as well as information technology. Ms. Irion is a Certified Public Accountant.

GT Omniport, a multimodal facility located in Port Arthur, Texas, is an industrial park and liquids terminal offering rail, truck, barge, pipeline and deepwater ship transloading services. The environmental remediation and civil service construction project included soil preparation, demolishing the concrete and steel structures, clearing, grubbing, crushing concrete, beneficial reuse of of crushed concrete, and soil stabilization using RECON’s patented blend of reagents.
